The focus of this concert is on a milestone in Beethoven’s chamber music compositions, the trio op. 38, featuring the wonderful combination of clarinet, bassoon and fortepiano. The 1827 fortepiano by important Vienna piano maker, Joseph Brodmann, will be played by harpsichordist and fortepiano specialist, Barbara Adamczyk. Beethoven in Vienna played instruments made by Brodmann. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear this fortepiano with such an important work featuring prominent musicians. Ernst Schlader is a member and solo-clarinettist of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and regularly appears with important ensembles such as the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Concerto Köln, Orchestre des Champs-Élysées and the Collegium 1703 Prague. Karin Gemeinhardt, too, has made a name for herself as a specialist for historical bassoon and has played concerts with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and other Baroque ensembles.
