»Rudolf Lutz and Georg Poplutz brought the Romantic period to life in the music salon … Wonderful Lieder, full of emotion, thoughtful, dramatic, dynamic, alternating between pain and delight, ideally presented by the evening’s musicians … A complete work of art comprising music and culinary arts… «

HEAVENLY MUSIC

Unusually unusual sounds ...

Elisabeth Seitz, salterio · Johanna Seitz, harp
more

»Come join the crowd, play harp and psaltery loud!” This could have been written on the poster for the two concerts. For the crowd did indeed come in droves, at least as far as the castle’s music salon could hold them. And psaltery and harp were playing out loud … The two sisters, Elisabeth and Johanna Seitz, touring festivals and concerts throughout Europe as the ›Duo33zwo‹, had brought salterio and Italian triple harp for a small, but most exquisite concert.«
Fränkischer Tag, Bamberg, 21. 11. 2019

»Right from the first note, the audience in the sold-out music salon was transported to a universe of sound which made them forget everything around them. While the triple harp wove a delicate carpet of sounds, the psaltery enhanced it, and together they soared high. It was a heavenly pleasure to listen to the angels’ favourite instruments in such perfect harmony.«

VITAL SPARK OF HEAVENLY FLAME

Music for voice and piano

Franz Vitzthum, countertenor · Katharina O. Brand, fortepiano
more

»A Blüthner piano from 1882, a fortepiano which is just under 100 years older, a pianist who in her play is a competent master of both instruments, plus a countertenor of the first order, who together present Lieder of the classical and Romantic periods. A superb cocktail served in the nearly sold-out music salon of Schloss Weißenbrunn, the likes of which Ebern probably hasn’t seen before.«

more

»If you want to convince children, you have to be brilliant without any compromises. And the group presenting a new children’s play in Schloss Weißenbrunn for audiences between 4 and 94 did just that. All spectators, from preschool kids to grannie, were as quiet as mice during the performance and listened attentively, whenever they did not have to join in the singing, and were enthusiastic afterwards.«

APPASSIONATA

Music by Ludwig van Beethoven and Fanny Hensel

Els Biesemans, historical keyboard instruments of the Music Salon
more

»Her readiness to take risks seems to pay off. Last year, church musician and cantor, Pia Praetorius handed in her notice at St. Egidien in Nuremberg after nearly 20 years as cantor and concert organiser, and together with her husband bought the little castle of Weißenbrunn in the solitude just behind Ebern. They have developed it into a small, but excellent music centre. Recently, Pia Praetorius managed to win Els Biesemanns for two concerts in the castle’s music salon … Els Biesemans is one of the truly great pianists who travel the world for concerts. In Weißenbrunn … she took the audience on a highly exciting little tour of the history of the sound and development of keyboard instruments, playing on the two historical instruments available in the salon.«
