With E.T.A. Hoffmann from the Classic to the Romantic Period

“How music is something most wondrous. How little can human beings fathom its deep secrets.” And yet this is exactly what the chamber ensemble gathered around mandolinist, Alon Sariel, and actor, Andreas Ulich, strive to do during this Romantic soirée, Salon music of a very special kind. With works by Ludwig van Beethoven, E.T.A. Hoffmann, Johann Nepomuk Hummel, W.A. Mozart and others.
Israeli musician, Alon Sariel, plays an instrument which is rather seldomly heard on the concert stage: he became a specialist for historic mandolin, and tours the world very successfully with it. He is accompanied by Viacheslav Shelepov, a fortepiano specialist, who will be playing on two different original fortepianos from the times of E.T.A. Hoffmanns which are in the collection of the Schloss Weißenbrunn Foundation.
