WALDMINNE - FOREST NYMPH - a legend told in Lieder

Award winner concert of the Fanny Hensel Competition

Tabea Mitterbauer, soprano & Erika Spring, piano
more

The saga of the “Waldminne” (Forest Nymph) is the founding story of the city of Bamberg. It describes how Philipp the Babenberger was inspired to establish this city on the “Seven Hills Countryside” near Bamberg when he had a vision in a dream and fell in love with the woodland nymph “Waldminne.”
The award-winning Lied duo will explore the borderline region between nature and dream in Lieder by Schubert, Hensel, Mendelssohn and Clara and Robert Schumann.  In their music the forest nymph will be present everywhere: in the wind, in the moonlight, in the forest and in the lovers’ voices.
