A Film about Beethoven's World of Sound


Six pianists playing Beethoven's six Bagatelles op. 126 on historical pianos

In February 2023, a film about Beethoven was recorded with six pianists. They played two of the Bagatelles each, some on different pianos from Beethoven’s time. And they talked about their passion for historical pianos and these instruments‘ possibilities and technical challenges. What’s exciting: each Bagatelle can be hear in two interpretations. A fascinating journey into Beethoven’s world of sound.

The Schloss Weißenbrunn Foundation supported Ukrainian musicians with concerts and film recordings, while they were living and working in the castle’s guesthouse during six months. All videos were created in cooperation with Yoel Culiner and culiner_creative_circle.
